RVS Goes Retro At RWM

Visitors to this year’s RWM show can take a journey back in time on the Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS) stand, which features an original 1978 Smith Cabac ‘75 electric street cleansing vehicle.

The vehicle has been restored to its former glory in true RVS style and will be filled with sweets from the same era to complete the trip down memory lane.

RVS supplies cost effective refuse vehicles, new from stock (RediTruck), remanufactured, or quality used, as well as the complete range of support services including vehicle hire, contract hire & maintenance, repairs & service, parts and finance.

RVS is back in force at this year’s expo with three refuse trucks on display around the site. The entrance doors will be flanked by an RVS RediTruck on one side - a new Dennis Elite 6 fitted with Dennis Olympus body and Beta Trade Lift - and a vehicle from its Hire Fleet on the other side - a new Mercedes Econic with Dennis Olympus and Terberg OmniDEL lift. The fourth vehicle, a new Scania chassis fitted with a remanufactured Heil Front End Loader, will be parked on the roundabout at the entrance to the NEC.

The company has recently accomplished its mission to be able to offer customers the complete refuse vehicle solution, with the launch of its own vehicle hire service.

Spencer Law, Managing Director said: “Our customers have told us that they don’t want to go elsewhere; that they like everything under one roof. We’ve listened to them and in response we’ve expanded our services. We now supply new vehicles, as well as Quality Used, and in addition to our remanufacturing capabilities we offer preventative maintenance and repair services, parts, finance and vehicle transportation. Moving into hire vehicles is a natural progression and helps our customers keep their operations running smoothly whilst we replace or repair their vehicles.”

RVS has a wide range of FORS compliant, weighing prepared vehicles such as RCV’s, Hook Loaders, Top Loaders and Front End Loaders, available for short to long-term hire, or contract hire with a fixed cost year on year and no maintenance and repair costs.

Luton-based waste management company, Cawleys is a third-generation family business with over 65 years experience in the industry. Phil Gudgeon, Operations Manager, Cawleys said: "We run a fleet of over 80 vehicles and sometimes require hire vehicles to bridge gaps when our own trucks are being repaired or MOT'd. We are extremely impressed by the RVS hire vehicles. Not only do they look better than other hire vehicles they are also operating very well. The few issues we have had have been resolved really quickly. We've had them for 3 months now and there's little sign of us getting rid of them especially with the prospect of more business coming in."
