RAWALPINDI: A nurse of the Fauji Foundation Hospital was stabbed to death and another critically injured in an attack on Sunday night.

The attack occurred a few metres from gate of the heavily-guarded hospital in the limits of the Morgah police station.

Preliminary police reports suggested that the two nurses were returning from a bazaar when unidentified people attacked them.

Police said 26-year-old Anum died on the spot and 24-year-old Erum suffered critical injuries.

Superintendent of Police Attique Tahir told Dawn that the deceased hailed from Sargodha. He said Erum was operated upon in the hospital. He said the circumstances in which the nurses were attacked could be known only after the statement of the injured nurse was recorded.
