AHMEDABAD: A team of Gandhinagar range's RR cell arrested five of six accused in connection with the robbery of Rs 3 lakh cash and two mobile phones that took place on July 29.
As per RR cell officials, a trader from Dhansura had started off in his jeep for shopping in Ahmedabad on July 29 at 10.15 pm when his vehicle was stopped by a group on the Rakhial-Dehgam road.
The gang robbed him of a bag containing cash and two phones at knife-point and fled from the spot in a van. "Working on a tip-off received by the range IG, Manoj Sashidhar, that the gang involved was from Ahmedabad, a team started investigating and caught five persons from different locations on August 6 and 7 with a total of six mobile phones and Rs 20,000 cash," said an official. The accused who have been arrested include Shahbaz Shaikh, Imran Pathan, both residents of Bombay Hotel road, Danilimda, Ganeshji Rabari, a resident of Danilimda, Ramesh Rabari, a resident of Acher, and Arjunram Prajapati, a resident of Manek Chowk. tnn
