Actor John Abraham doesn’t have high hopes for a sequel to 2008 film Dostana, which was about two men who pretend to be a gay couple.
“I don’t think Karan Johar [producer of Dostana] would want to make Dostana 2. I think homosexuality as a topic has been explored too much. I don’t think what you found funny five years back may be funny today. There are some films that should be left alone. Even I feel Dostana 2 should be left like that,” Abraham said.
The Tarun Mansukhani-directed Dostana was the story of two men played by Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan who pretend to be a gay couple so they can rent an apartment. They fall in love with the same girl (played by Priyanka Chopra) and try to win her heart, only to realise that she loves someone else.
Actor Varun Dhawan earlier said that he and Abraham, his co-star in the recently released Dishoom, would make a good pair in Dostana 2.
