TORONTO — Sebastian Giovinco tallied a hat trick, his second of the season, to help host Toronto FC extend its winning streak to four games with a 4-1 MLS victory over the New England Revolution Saturday night before a crowd of 27,495 at BMO Field.

Toronto has scored 12 goals over its four-game winning streak, with Giovinco accounting for seven scores in that stretch.

Giovinco gave Toronto FC (10-7-6) a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute, beating Revolution goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth with a sharp cross from the right side that came after the 29-year-old Italian forward executed a corner kick from the right side, then came swooping in for a rebound of a shot that caromed off the left post.

In the 29th minute, Giovinco made it 2-0 when he scored from the left side of the pitch, curling a shot over Shuttleworth's outstretched hand that found the top shelf on the right.

Giovinco turned the trick with his 15th goal of the season when he converted on a penalty kick in the 76th minute after New England's Darrius Barnes took down Jonathan Osorio in the area.

Teal Bunbury tallied the lone goal for the Revolution in the 88th minute before Toronto's Jozy Altidore added an insurance goal in stoppage time for the final margin of victory.

The Revolution (6-9-8) will return home to Gillette Stadium to host the Chicago Fire on Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
