A man allegedly stabbed his pregnant wife to death suspecting her of having an extramarital relationship.
Half-an-hour after committing the heinous act, the man surrendered at a local police station and handed over the blood-stained weapon.
The incident had taken place about 10 km from block headquarter town of Balikuda in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Friday evening.
The accused, Harsha Bardhan Swain (30), a native of Bilinuagaon village, had taken his wife Rinki Swain (26), who was six months pregnant, to the Balikuda Community Health Centre (CHC) for regular check-up.
When both were returning after the check-up, the accused allegedly started stabbing his wife with a sharp weapon at deserted place.
