MYSURU: Karnataka State Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University syndicate member CR Himanshu has demanded police probe into the alleged forgery that took place in the university.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Himanshu said signatures of five syndicate members - Himanshu, Dr Vasundara Hegde, Ustad Fayaz Khan, Nagachandrika Bhat and AB Prashanth - have been forged in a letter written to high education minister Basavaraja Rayareddy, demanding transfer of university registrar A Rangaswamy.

"We have not written any letter to minister Rayareddy about Rangaswamy. We suspect that the university VC Sarvamangala Shankar, who had registered a case against Rangaswamy of harassment earlier, may have forged the signatures. We suspect that our signatures were copied from syndicate meeting resolution documents kept in VC's chamber," he said.
Meanwhile, another member AB Prashanth said that even after seven years of its inception, there is no development to the university. "The university administration has completely collapsed and many files have gone missing from the office cupboards. The university is still facing teaching staff shortage, which is yet to be addressed," he said adding that syndicate members want the university to improve and there is a need for good administrator.
Dr Vasundara Hegde claimed, without proper buildings, the university looks like a kindergarten school. She added that there is also no proper syllabus for students.
The members demanded that police investigate the incident and arrest the culprit as soon as possible.
