CID organises seminar on synthetic drugs

SOLAN: The CID today organised a one-day seminar on the use of synthetic drugs and precursor chemicals at Baddi.

The CID today organised a one-day seminar on the use of synthetic drugs and precursor chemicals at Baddi.

The seminar also focused on the precursor chemicals, their use by pharmaceutical chemicals and their prevailing misuse in society.

It was organised under the chairmanship of IGP, Crime, Gianeshwar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Baddi, Basher Singh, ASP Gaurav Singh, officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Drug Controller and representatives of various pharma companies in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh area.

The officials focused on preparing an indent of precursor chemicals and their manufacturers so that the origin of their misuse could be traced in case of such an eventuality. Awareness on various aspects was generated through discussions and illustrations from recent happenings.

The seminar also dwelt upon preparing an action plan to tackle the menace of misuse of precursor chemicals based on relevant information. — TNS
