Dark Souls 3 Enjoys "Favorable Sales," Helps Bandai Namco Post Profit

A specific sales figure was not disclosed, but in an earnings report this week, Bandai Namco said Dark Souls III enjoyed "favorable" sales, leading the company to boost its earnings projections.

"For home video game software in the Network Entertainment Business, in North America and Europe, sales were favorable for the new title Dark Souls III, repeat titles, and titles owned by other companies sold utilizing the Company's sales network," Bandai Namco said in a news release [PDF].

In May, Bandai Namco announced that Dark Souls III had shipped 3 million copies, though it is not clear where that figure stands today.

As a result of dark Souls III's performance, among other things, Bandai Namco is increasing its earnings guidance, as outlined in the table posted below.

For the quarter ended June 30, Bandai Namco saw its revenue and profit increase, as you can see in the table above.
