Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is out and the wait is over! The device will be launched in India on August 11 and it is expected to be priced around Rs 55,000 making it one of the premium smartphones in the market.

While it is known that the Note 7 will be a hardware prowess with an iris scanner, a fingerprint scanner, QHD display, octa-core processor, and a lot more. But, the noticeable change in the Galaxy Note 7 is its overhauled Project Grace interface.

The new and upgraded TouchWiz interface is likely to land on the other flagships of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lineup in the coming months. With the new interface, the familiar and general form of the interface is combined with smoothened and more consistent icons.

Apart from these, there are many other changes in the Galaxy Note 7's TouchWiz interface. Some of the notable changes are the S Pen abilities that can be unified in the Notes app, the ability to add a blue light filter in the status bar toggles, etc.

Get rounded corners with consistent iconography

There were complaints about the TouchWiz interface from the users. The interface had different sets of menu and app icons in different sections of the interface. The Note 7's interface sports a consistent icon set with rounded and smooth corners for a pleasant look.

Tilt to unlock

Similar to the iOS 10 platform, the display of the Note 7 will light up when you grab and tilt the phone upwards towards your eye. This way, you can see the contents on the lock screen without touching the power button that lies on the side.

Settings menu is quite minimalist

The Settings menu has got a great overhaul in the next iteration of the TouchWiz interface. There is a rich set of options and the iconography and font look minimalistic and understated.

Get instant updates with the Always On

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge came with the Always On display that has enhanced third-party app and calendar event notifications. With the Note 7's S Pen, you can add a custom signature or pin a Screen Off memo that is scribbled on the screen with the S Pen.

Edge screen gets new options

The Task edge features that will appear on the edge screen have also increased in number. You can create a drawing, view unread emails, record an exercise in the S Health app and so a lot more.

The camera interface is simplified

Navigating through the camera interface is possible with gestures. You can make gestures to access the most used features without obstructing the view.

The Themes menu includes icons as well

The new TouchWiz interface includes tons of beautiful themes included in a separate section for the same. This Themes menu includes icon packs and you can swap the same as per your choice.

No need to swipe through the quick panel

In the previous iterations of TouchWiz, you had to swipe the Quick Panel sideways to enable or disable features in the Quick Panel as you can just roll down the notification shade to access all the settings you have placed there.

There's a switch for the blue light filter

From the Quick Panel, you can access the blue light filter toggle that can be enabled to use the phone at night or dark ambient conditions.

Stay secure with the Secret Folder

The addition of the Secret Folder on the Note 7 is to enhance the security of the device. This folder can be accessed with the new biometric ID iris scanning too. You can maintain a separate subset of documents, media, contacts, notes, emails, etc. that are visible only to you in this folder.
