GU rolls back fee hike

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat University authorities had to withdraw fee hike in BBA, BCA and commerce courses in self-financed institutes. The move came in the wake of strong protests registered by Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
The university had decided to increase fees after a committee formed to evaluate this financial aspect had advised to go ahead with fee hike.However, the university later formed an internal committee, which suggested that the fee hike must be withdrawn. In colleges where students have already paid their fees will have the extra amount adjusted while payment of fee in the second semester. tnn
