Superstar Mohanlal's Malayalam family entertainer "Vismayam" ("Manamantha" in Telugu and "Namadhu" in Tamil) was released on Friday, August 5 all over India. National film award-winning filmmaker Chandra Shekhar Yeleti has helmed the movie, which also stars Gauthami, Viswant, Raina Rao, Anisha Ambrose in lead roles.
Mohanlal plays a middle-class man, who works as an assistant manager in a supermarket. The movie, which is the debut Telugu project of the superstar, marks his reunion with "His Highness Abdulla" heroine Gauthami after 26 years.

It is the first release of Mohanlal in 2016 and he has dubbed for his character in all the three versions of the film. This is the first time three movies of the superstar are hitting the theatres on the same day in his acting career spanning 36 years. In a recent video posted on his Facebook page, Mohanlal has requested his fans to watch the family entertainer, which narrates the story of four different people.
"Vismayam" also has Urvashi, Nassar, Vennela Kishore, Dhanraj, Parachuri Venkateswara Rao, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Praveen, Naveen Neni, Ayyapa, Harshavardhan and P Sharma in key roles. It is being produced by Sai Korrapati under his production banner Varahi Chalana Chitram.

Manamantha will remain a top class film in the career of Chandu and Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram. Chandu has a knack of extracting fantastic performances from his actors. From a seosoned actor like Mohanlal garu to a 4 year old kid every one will make you smile laugh and cry and will remain in our hearts and thoughts for a very long time. The way the film began the way it was weaved and the way it ended is a text book for every film student. Congratulations to the entire unit. Everyone who worked in the film can proudly say he/she is a member of Manamantha.

Vismayam - The movie follows a heavily melodramatic narrative which is the norm in the Telugu industry so it might initially a deterrent while watching the movie in Malayalam, along with the dubbing and translated dialogues (both of which are partly good and partly poor). Too many songs (with silly dubbed lyrics and singing) also spoil the flow. But the last 30-40 minutes and climax of the movie in spite of being melodramatic, touched my heart and made up for all the shortcomings until then. Though the climax can be guessed quite early on, it's lovely to see how it unravels. The role of Sairam is not at all a challenge for Lalettan but it will be a great experience for the Telugu people to see his performance. And yes, it has been really long since we saw him without the burden of the superstar status which is a good feeling. Urvashi is hilarious. Nice to her back in form after Uttama Villain. And there was a whole lot of difference in how seasoned veterans like Lalettan and Urvashi dubbed their lines compared to the others. Gauthami and the little girl were also really good. Vismayam can be watched once for Lalettan, Urvashi and the touching climax which the whole movie gradually builds up towards. And I hope Lalettan takes up more such subjects and roles in Malayalam as well.

Vismayam : It is a good family thriller movie. It narrates a new, fresh story in a beautiful way. Mohanlal, gauthami are in the leading roles. I dont want to say anything about the story because it affects the thriller nature of movie. Try to see it. Surely it will wonder you as the films title says. Rating = 3.5/5

Its a come back movie for mohanlal. Done his role natural and perfect .Sairam will make your eyes full of tears. first half was excellent because natural comedies and the way the director brings the story.second half was emotional thriller.And this was presented in a different way. if you want see a new mohanlal you should watch it.because it is something special in eyes.

vismayam : I donno how come the name VIsmayam . the movie is all about emotions at the deep . juzt a movie for making tears without any trueline. a lagfful movie with an unrelated story line. my rating 2/5.

I saw my rolemodel Mohanlal's new movie "vismayam" which is a class movie.i will give 8.5 marks out of 10.it is a story of middle class family where Mohanlal's character is father of an engineering student and a daughter,Urvasi and gauthami's performance is superb.very good and thrilling climax.very good script and direction.
