Engineering colleges induct entrants with dose of motivation

Engineering colleges in the district have been initiating first-year students into the post-school phase of education through a dose of motivation in recent weeks.

The Bannari Amman Institute of Technology invited C. Sylendrababu, Additional Director General of Police, Coastal Security Group, Tamil Nadu, to interact with as many as 1650 students and their parents.

The chief guest emphasised on commitment and enthusiasm, and urged students to manage time well. The IPS officer advised them to identify their individual talent and nurture them to excellence with self-confidence and determination.

The students were also addressed by S.V. Balasubramaniam, Chairman, Bannari Amman Group; A.M. Natarajan, Chief Executive of BIT; and Principal D. Saravanan. Former IAS Officer M.P. Vijayakumar, Trustee and Director of BIT, delivered special address.

The 33rd batch of B.E./B.Tech students of Kongu Engineering College had the opportunity to interact with Suresh Kuppusamy, Chief Executive Officer, Sterling Software Private Limited, Chennai.

The chief guest dwelt on daily learning, sustaining achievement, utilisation of all available opportunities, pursuit of world class quality, developing wide perspective through reading of newspapers and business magazines, development of good attitude, pursuit of innovation, and the ability to network with people.

Motivational talks were also delivered by E.K. Lingamurthy, President, KVIT Trust; P.C. Palanisamy, Secretary; and V.K. Muthusamy, College Correspondent.

Cine Director and Lyricist Bharathi Krishnakumar addressed first-year students of Erode Sengunthar Engineering College. He reminded them about their fortune to be among the 16 per cent of students who are fortunate to pursue higher education. Erode Sengunthar Educational Trust Secretary Sivanandan and Correspondent Mohanraj also engaged the students.

First-year students of M.P. Nachimuthu M.Jaganathan Engineering College were addressed by college Correspondent Vasantha Sudhanandhen and Vice-Principal of Navarasam Arts and Science College Selvam.
