Bhagwat Prasad Makwana, national president of Rashtriya Valmiki Krantikari Morcha, today alleged that the state government was yet to take steps to improve the social and economic status of sanitation workers and reserved category people. He urged the government to introduce more beneficiary schemes for the welfare of under privileged people.

Makwana was speaking at a press conference here today.

He said the government should take steps to fill the backlog of reserved category posts in government departments. It should increase the posts of sanitation workers from 3,436 to 6,000. Salaries and perks of sanitation workers in the state should be revised, he added.
