Hummam Chy ‘picked up’ in Dhaka
Hummam Quader Chowdhury, son of executed war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdury, was reportedly detained by detectives from a court premise in Dhaka today.
Farhat Quader Chowdhury, mother of Mummam, said that she along with her son was going to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court (CMM) to attend a hearing around 11:15am.
“As we reached near the gate of the court, a group of plainclothes people asked us to open the door of my car,” she told The Daily Star.
“At one stage, they forced me to open the door and picked my son up without showing any cause,” she said.
Since then, she cannot trace the whereabouts of her son, Farhat also said.
Hummam’s lawyer Aminul Goni Titu said that his clients went to the court to attend a hearing before a Cyber Crime Tribunal in a case filed against them under the ICT Act.
The matter was informed to the tribunal, Titu said.
Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, told The Daily Star that they have got complaint that Salauddin’s son has been detained.
“But I don’t know further detail in this regard,” the OC added.
