The Syrian regime is known for its targeting of rebel groups, not so much drug dealers. But today Syria’s Drug Combatment Department arrested four hash dealers, seizing 38 kg of the substance in the process, SANA reports.

The dealers were reportedly operating outside of Damascus in the countryside, hiding the hash in their car. The state-controlled news agency notes that a similar bust occurred on July 22.

And in January, Jordanian border guards clashed with drug smugglers trying to infiltrate the country via Syria.
