The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) developed the Partner OEM Incentive Program for Yanmar America’s propane-fueled combined heat and power (CHP) systems.

The financial incentive is available to qualifying construction professionals, homeowners and businesses who purchase Yanmar’s propane-fueled cogeneration systems and agree to share their experiences with PERC. The council says it created the incentive to encourage the adoption of new propane equipment in homes and businesses.

Qualifying equipment from Yanmar America includes a $5,000 incentive for the CP5WN, which is a 5-kilowatt CHP, and a $10,000 incentive for the CP10WN, which is a 10-kilowatt CHP. Up to $75,000 in total funds will be available under the program until December 2017, the council says.

Yanmar’s cogeneration systems use a propane or natural gas engine to deliver useful heat and power to residential and commercial facilities. By capturing waste heat during electrical generation and reusing it, these systems are able to provide more efficiency than traditional standby generators, PERC adds.
