An enquiry committee under Puttur block education officer (BEO) has been set up to investigate the case where a teacher allegedly beat up a class 2 girl at a government primary school in Kodimbadi in Puttur Taulk.

Mangaluru: An enquiry committee under Puttur block education officer (BEO) has been set up to investigate the case where a teacher allegedly beat up a class 2 girl at a government primary school in Kodimbadi in Puttur Taulk.
The mother of the girl has alleged that her daughter was beaten up by the teacher with a stick for creating nuisance in the class five days ago and she was taken to a hospital for first aid.

Parents also reportedly shifted the girl to another school at Haradi following the incident. However, no police complaint has been filed in this regard.
Speaking to TOI, BEO G S Shashidhar there are many versions of the incident and the truth would come out only after an enquiry.
