Around half-a-dozen unidentified miscreants attacked and attempted to rob passengers of Hyderabad bound Telangana express train near Lalitpur on the intervening night of August 2/3.

The gang boarded the crowded general compartment of the train at Pune station at 4.15pm.
Jhansi: Around half-a-dozen unidentified miscreants attacked and attempted to rob passengers of Hyderabad bound Telangana express train near Lalitpur on the intervening night of August 2/3.
According to the complaint, the attackers had stopped the train at about 2.30 am at Jarone railway station near Lalitpur. Three persons, armed with knives and guns, had knocked the door of AC first class compartment in HA1 coach saying that they were from railway's maintenance department.

As a passenger Shailendra Sharma opened the door of his compartment, the miscreants tried to forcibly enter inside it but were resisted by Sharma and his wife Radha. The couple somehow managed to push the miscreants out and locked the door from inside. Later on, the train was stopped at Bina railway station where GRP and RPF personnel rushed for the help. SP (GRP) Satyendra Kumar said, "We have lodged two separate cases under sections 380 and 393, and are trying to nab them".
