ALIGARH: Samajwadi Party MLA Zameer Ullah Khan who dared local police to arrest the Babri Mandi molestation accused from his house has denied saying it in public. He has claimed that he was quoted talking out of context and somebody made a video of him to sully his image.
The Aligarh SSP has issued a show-cause notice to the legislator. Meanwhile, the district administration has said the eight Hindus, who came to them saying they wanted to sell their houses fearing rising crime, are untraceable since they do not write their addresses or phone numbers in the affidavit.

On Saturday, the MLA had allegedly said, " Woh chautha aaropi ghar mein hai ... jisme himmat ho pakad lo (The fourth accused is hiding in my house, whoever dares can arrest him)." The MLA's statement kicked up a political storm with BJP mayor Shakuntala Bharti and MP Satish Gautam demanding an inquiry against him. They met Aligarh SSP Love Kumar late on Sunday and got a notice issued against him. The MLA denied receiving any notice.
Clarifying his stand, the MLA claimed the local station officer had allegedly entered the accused's house during a raid without alerting the women. "Some were not prepared for this unannounced entry and took offence. They came to me later," he said. Khan said he also gave a complaint to the DM and SSP regarding this and was speaking in this context.
The MLA, however, said, "I stand by what I said because the inquiry is very biased. Police are giving into pressure from BJP and arresting teenage boys. I made an unofficial statement in a state of emotional turmoil."
