Lucknow: Come Independence Day and the street from Samta Mulak crossing to Prateek Sthal (near Gautam Buddha statue) in Vipin Khand, Gomtinagar, will be an all-women market of handicrafts, wares and food stalls.
An LDA official said the street, popularly known as Marine Drive, has dozens of halls made of granite in a row where the shops would be set up. The street, known as Mahila Bazar, was developed by the Public Works Department during the Bahujan Samaj Party regime for women entrepreneurs and will be inaugurated on August 15.

"The street will become functional and women from all parts of the state will get an opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial skills," he said.
