Upkar Singh Ahuja appointed chairman of Small Industrial Development Board

LUDHIANA: In a much awaited move, Punjab government gave a go ahead to appoint the Chairman of Punjab Small industrial development board on Wednesday evening. General secretary of Chamber of industrial and commercial undertakings (CICU) & Managing Director of New Swan enterprises, Upkar Singh Ahuja has been appointed on the coveted post which had many other contenders in the foray,especially from the bicycle industry.Confirming Ahuja's appointment chief minister Parkash Singh Badal's office issued a press release today evening.
Expressing his gratitude towards government and industrialists who vouched for his name, Ahuja said, "I have been entrusted a very huge responsibility for which i am highly thankful to Punjab government, chief minister and deputy chief minister. I will do my best to work for the welfare and development of industry of the state and address the issues of industrialists.
Meanwhile another industrialists from Ludhiana and president of Federation of industrial and commercial organisations (FICO), Gurmeet Kular has been appointed as the chairman of Punjab Ramgarhia welfare board.
