TXU Parent Sees Steady, Marginal Residential Customer Churn
Energy Future Holdings, parent of TXU Energy and 4Change Energy, saw a marginal decline in its residential competitive retail customer count from March 31, 2016 to June 30, 2016, with the decline in-line with the declines seen in recent quarters
EFH's retail suppliers saw their residential customer count decline by 3,000 March 31, 2016 to June 30, 2016.
That compares to a net loss of 3,000 residential customers from December 31, 2015 to March 31, 2016, a loss of 4,000 residential customers from September 30, 2015 to December 31, 2015; and a loss of 2,000 residential customers from June 30, 2015 to September 30, 2015.
In the year-ago quarter, the EFH retail companies had reported a net loss of 8,000 customers from March 31, 2015 to June 30, 2015, and had reported their most recent net growth of 4,000 residential customers from December 31, 2014 to March 31, 2015
As of June 30, 2016, EFH retail companies were serving 1.483 million residential customers, versus 1.486 million as of March 31, 2016, and 1.495 million a year ago
As of June 30, 2016, EFH retail companies were serving 196,000 business meters, versus 197,000 as of March 31, 2016, and 204,000 a year ago
Total EFH competitive retail customer count at June 30, 2016 was 1.679 million, versus 1.683 million as of March 31, 2016 and 1.699 million a year ago
Total EFH competitive retail electricity volumes for the quarter ending June 30, 2016 were 9,781 GWh, versus 9,788 GWh a year ago. EFH residential competitive retail electricity volumes for the quarter ending June 30, 2016 were 5,033 GWh, versus 4,990 GWh a year ago.
Total EFH competitive retail electricity operating revenues for the quarter ending June 30, 2016 were $978 million, versus $1.051 billion a year ago. The $73 million decline was driven by a 7% overall average price decline in residential and business markets
EFH residential competitive retail electricity operating revenues for the quarter ending June 30, 2016 were $628 million, versus $674 million a year ago.
