Daycare Worker Charged With Child Pornography, Allegedly Videoed Himself Molesting Kids At Work
A Texas day care worker has been charged with various child pornography charges, with investigators alleging that the man recorded himself molesting boys and the job and sharing videos with another man, the San Antonio Express-News is reporting.
Until last week, Nicholas Andreas Gonzales Malven was employed a San Antonio La Petite Academy (La Petite is a nationwide chain of day care centers).

On Friday, police showed up and arrested him, following a child pornography investigation by the FBI.
FBI agents investigating a child pornography ring honed in on a suspect who informed them that Malven had sent him pictures of Malven molesting a 4-year-old boy — a boy who was in Malven’s care at the daycare center. The informant said that he and Malven agreed to meet for sex, and that they viewed child pornography together. Malven also allegedly sent child pornography to another man — an undercover FBI agent.
Authorities investigating the day care worker’s apartment found his phone and discovered five sexually explicit images of the boy. The images were believed to have been produced at the daycare where he worked. Malven allegedly admitted to agents that he had been sending, receiving, and accessing child pornography for at least five years prior to his arrest.
According to KABB (San Antonio), the mother of the victim was asked to confirm to FBI agents that it was her son in the sexually explicit images and videos.
“I’m just so disgusted. I actually had no idea whatsoever until the FBI showed up at my house.”
KENS (San Antonio) reports that the mother, whose name is not being released to protect her and her son’s privacy, never thought anything was amiss with Malven during the few brief moments she’d ever spent with him. Meanwhile, her son is staying with relatives while she searches for a new day care for him. Fortunately the boy, who is scheduled for a check-up with his doctor next week, seems to be OK.
“He’s a happy 4 year old. He’s a normal 4-year-old. He doesn’t think anything went wrong.”
Texas’ state childcare licensing agency is investigating the incident.
In a statement, La Petite Academy’s Lydia Cisaruk said that the safety of the children in their care is the company’s top priority.
“We were made aware an employee was arrested. We were deeply disturbed to understand the nature of the charges. This individual is no longer employed by our company. We have strict policies and procedures to ensure we meet or exceed regulatory guidelines. We do not tolerate any deviation from our standards of care. We are fully cooperating with the authorities in the investigation. We take our responsibility as caregivers very seriously. Our focus remains on providing a safe and nurturing learning environment. Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our children.”
This is not the first time a day care worker has been charged in connection with child pornography.
Last month, in Ohio, former daycare worker Heather Koon pleaded guilty to raping children in her care at ABC Kidz Day Care in Elyria, and recording the abuse, according to WXIN (Indianapolis).

Koon said she raped the children and filmed their assaults at the request of her boyfriend, convicted sex offender James Osborne. As of this writing, Koon has yet to be sentenced.
Meanwhile, former daycare worker Nicholas Malven, if convicted of all child pornography charges against him, faces up to 30 years in prison.
