As the Danish ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea and ASEAN, Casper Klynge’s day-to-day activities rely heavily on technology.
A frequent traveler, Klynge relies on his gadgets and apps to make his life easier.
“When I travel, there’s an app I use to find cheap tickets and another one to find hotels and places to stay,” he said.
After being in Indonesia for almost two years, Klynge has also come to rely on the many apps to order food.
“I quite often use the foodpanda app to get food delivered whenever I’m in Jakarta,” he said, chuckling.
But the app that he uses the most is Twitter and his active participation on the site is proof that social media has become an important part of his work.
“You get your news online and you also get information with such a big Twitter community. It’s great because it allows you to get into contact with people that you would not necessarily have gotten in touch with otherwise,” Klynge said.

iPhone 6s
My phone is the number one gadget I use simply because of how functional it is. I can work on it and send emails from it. I use it as my calendar. But I also use it for the games and different apps that help me go about my day.

Noise-canceling headphones
Because I travel quite a lot, noise-cancelling headphones have recently become my favorite gadget. You get on an airplane, turn on the music and the noise is removed. I used to play rock ‘n’ roll so being able to listen to music when I travel is important.

PlayStation
I have two young boys that really love playing games. I claim that the PlayStation is for them, but in reality I love playing with it as well.
