The third episode of SmackDown that aired from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on 2 August saw an exciting line up of matches. In the main match card Dolph Ziggler squared off against Bray Wyatt for the #1 contender for the WWE championship, where the former emerged victorious.

In the triple threat match between Kalisto, Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews for the #1 contender for the Intercontinental championship, the latter of the three overpowered his opponents to win the fight. Crews will face The Miz at SummerSlam on 21 August for the title.

Dolph Ziggler vs Bray Wyatt (#1 contender match for WWE championship)

The match was closely fought between the two wrestlers, with Ziggler and Wyatt going back-and-forth right from the start. Ziggler came out victorious after he slammed Wyatt head into an exposed turnbuckle and then hit a Superkick for the win.

Kalisto vs Baron Corbin vs Apollo Crews (#1 contender match for Intercontinental championship)

WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Maryse were commenting for the fight, when out came Kalisto followed by Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews. The final moments of the match saw Crews roll Kalisto up for the win after he dropkicked Corbin out of the ring.

American Alpha vs The Vaudevillains

American Alpha's Jason Jordan and Chad Gable won with Grand Amplitude.

Fandango vs Randy Orton

Randy Orton defeated Fandango via disqualification after Brock Lesnar delivered the F5 on Orton.

Becky Lynch vs Eva Marie

The match was called off because Eva could not compete as she suffered from a leg injury just after entering the ring.

Natalya vs Carmella

Natalya attacked Carmella before they even entered the ring. Natalya locked her opponent with a Sharpshooter even as the referee tried to break it. Finally, she let go and walked off.
