Vijay Javali, a diploma-holder and former employee of a reputed automobile company, has developed a big nursery in front of his house at Vidyanagar near Daivajna Kalyana Mantapa under the guidance of his family doctor Dr Gourishankar R.
He wanted to become an entrepreneur and realised his dream six months ago. Initially, he started a nursery on the terrace of his house but has shifted it to the space in front of his house. His nursery, Aryan, has various types of plants for sale.
Vijay also provides information how to maintain trees and flowering plants. "Though it's my business to sell nursery products, creating awareness and providing information is social service and my social responsibility," he said.
He said he loves the environment since childhood. "Unfortunately, I had to pursue technical education and wasn't professionally satisfied. I decided to quit that job and get involved in the nursery despite opposition from my," he added.
Vijay said, "I was earning quite well in the earlier job. Now, I don't earn much but I'm very happy and satisfied I'm doing something to protect the environment. After realizing the importance of my contribution to maintain the ecological balance, my family members started supporting me."

Dr Gourishankar said, "Vijay took my suggestion seriously and de dicated himself to the environment by starting a nursery," adding, "There is no need for big infrastructure and huge investment. Anyone can start in open space too but commitment is more important."
