NEW DELHI: A bag lying unattended at Kohat Enclave metro station on the Red Line created panic among commuters on Tuesday. The CISF bomb disposal team and dog squad declared the bag clean after an hour-long scan.
Around 8.15pm, a passerby spotted the bag lying on the stairs near gate number 3 of the metro station and alerted CISF personnel. When the bag’s owner could not be traced, the bomb disposal and detection team and dog squad were called in.
CISF officers said that the bag was stolen from a passenger and abandoned at the station.
“We opened the bag and found some files, passbook and other documents in it. We then called the owner after getting his contact details from the documents,” said a senior CISF officer.
“The owner, a resident of Kohat Enclave, said that there was some cash in the bag, which could not be found. CCTV footages are being check to find out who stole the bag,” said the officer.
