CHENNAI: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) on Tuesday termed the removal of PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss from the post of president of the Tamil Nadu Badminton Association (TNBA) as "totally illegal."
On Sunday, TNBA general secretary Ashok Bajaj announced that Ramadoss was expelled from the association for conducting a "one-man show."
In a letter Bajaj, BAI president Akhilesh Das Gupta said the former's actions were "unwanted, inappropriate and not within the powers of a general secretary."
"A president cannot be removed just by a single resolution.
No proper procedure was followed and BAI was not intimated to send the observer. This is totally illegal. Hence, BAI recognises Anbumani Ramadoss as officially elected president of TNBA," Gupta said.
