PUNE: Seven months after mobile handsets worth Rs 13.82 lakh were stolen from a godown in Lonikand, the Pune rural police have recovered 1,600 of them with the arrest of two men.
The suspects Kabir Shaikh (24) and Gopal Murade (30), of Raigad district, had broken into the godown on January 25 and made away with the handsets.
While investigating, the local crime branch of the Pune rural police received a tip that the suspects were from Raigad district, and later got information that they had gone to Pune.

Inspector of the local crime branch of the Pune rural police Ram Jadhav said that the police laid a trap for the accused at Wagholi in Pune and nabbed Shaikh and Murade.
