While some jawans would scout for food, some cooked meals for about 1,000 troops before the train resumed its journey.
Mhow: The railway over bridge (ROB) situated between Mhow and Kishanganj, which was constructed despite a slew of agitations, has turned accident-prone allegedly due to faulty design. On Monday another accident was witnessed on the ROB when car of a senior army officer met with an accident on the railway over bridge. It was followed by a street fight between the officer and the civilian car owner resulting in a state of traffic jam for about half an hour.

The incident was not new on the ROB, which as per the general consensus is badly designed. The flaws in the design of the bridge were pointed out by the activists and the locals at the time of its construction itself, but the PWD (bridge division) completed the construction work as per the plan and now the public is paying for the folly.
Situation of traffic-jam on the bridge started in November 2013 and since then, more than two dozen people, mostly bike riders have been injured, while one youth has died when his bike was overrun by an Indore- Mhow local bus. The residents are of the view that the ROB is a collection of a large number of imperfections. It is surprising that even an ordinary person can understand them, but the officials and the engineers involved in its construction and monitoring were unable to point them out. As per them, the accidents that had occurred on the ROB so far were of minor nature and only one of those accidents has claimed a human life, but the condition could be very serious if two passenger buses or cars meet with an accident there. The commuters are not able to realize about the traffic coming from the opposite side at two points on the ROB due to the blind turns.
When the executive engineer of PWD (bridge division) RN Mishra was contacted, he said that the design of the bridge was not made with an ill intention, but it was done due to a compulsion.
