ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army and the North Waziristan agency political administration distributed Rs 30.76 million among internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan agency (NWA), whose houses were damaged during the Zarb-e-Azab operation. Miranshah Assistant Political Officer Anwar Khan Sherani and Assistant Political Agent Mirali Manzoor Khan Afridi said that the owners of fully damaged houses were paid Rs 400,000 each and owners of partially damaged houses were paid Rs 160,000 each. 71 families of Miranshah tehsil and 116 of Mirali tehsil received compensation cheques, 32 of them got Rs 400,000 each and 155 of them got Rs 160,000 each. The cheque distribution ceremony, which was held in Lirali, was attended by Lieutenant Col Ghulam Abbas, Major Babar and Captain Badar from 15-NLI Pakistan Army. Officials from the Political administration of Miranshah and Mirali, including Tehsildar Miranshah Fazal Dad Wasafi and Tehsildar Mirali Saraf Ali were also present.
