Theatre activists Altaf of Raichur and K. Goparaju Ramana of Andhra Pradesh have been chosen for the Ballari Raghava award.
It will be conferred on them on August 2 and 3, respectively, to mark the 136th birth anniversary of Ballari Raghava, a theatre personality of yesteryears, at a function organised by Raghava Memorial Association at Raghava Kala Mandir here.
The award carries a purse of Rs. 15,000, a silver medal, a memento, and a shawl.
Mamata Gudur of Bagalkot, P.M. Rajashekaraiah Swamy of Ballari, G. Vandana of Gangavati, Hallad Basappa of Kuditini and Purshotam Handyal of Ballari; and Telugu theatre activists R. Devanna of Ballari, K. Muralidhar Kalagodu of Anantpur, P. Venkata Narayan Reddy S. Venkamamba and Karnam Hanumanthrao of Ballari will be conferred with district-level Raghava awards, which carries a purse of Rs. 5,000, a silver medal, memento and a shawl. Itagi Eeeranna, well-known ‘shayar’ in Kannada, will inaugurate the function with B. Siddanagouda, president of association, will be present.
