Elaborate arrangements for vavu bali today

The Travancore Devaswom Board, other temple devaswoms, various Hindu organisations, and karayogams attached to the Nair Service Society have made elaborate arrangements for the annual bali tharpanom, paying obeisance to forefathers, on the new moon day in the Malayalam month of Karkidakom (Karkidaka vavu bali), on Tuesday.

Makeshift sheds have been erected at various temple ghats in the Pampa, Achencoil and Manimala for performing the ritualistic ceremony.

The Mahadeva Hindu Seva Samiti at Pandalam has made arrangements for bali tharpanom at the Pandalam Mahadevar temple ghats on the banks of the Achencoil. Separate arrangements have also been made for men and women to perform vavu bali, according to the organisers.

The Viswa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Aikyavedi, Viswa Brahmana Sabha, and Viswakarma Sabha have also made preparations for the vavu bali.

The Hindu Aikyavedi and VHP have made arrangements for bali tharpanom at the Sree Parthsarathy Temple ghats in the Pampa at Aranmula.

The Ayroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindu Maha Mandalam has also made arrangements. The NSS karayogams have made arrangements at Kuttoor Thondara kadavu, and Vamanapuram Vishnu Temple ghats, near Vallamkulam.

At Siva temple

The annual rites will be held at the Siva Temple on Thricherpuram hill near Kottangal in Mallappally.

The Kadalaimangalam Devi temple devaswom has made arrangements for the annual ritual at the temple ghats at Venpala, near Thiruvalla.
