Avtar Singh (35) of Manian Wala village in Muktsar district was crushed to death today under a bus of the New Deep company, owned by an Akali leader.
The bus (PB30J1137) was on its way to Bathinda from Amritsar when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the motorcycle-borne Avtar, whose wife was riding pillion.
Avtar died on the spot, while his wife was referred to Government Medical College , Faridkot. Davinder Kumar, Station House Officer (Sadar) Zira, said the incident took place near Behak Gujara village on the Makhu-Zira road.
He said the bus had been impounded, while the driver was on the run.
On March 22, Satnam Singh (40) of Chakk Rode Wala village in the district was hit by a New Deep bus. He had died on the spot.
