7 years on, Khandwa Power Project awaits coal linkage

Bhopal, Aug 1 (UNI) Seven years after the Madhya Pradesh Government assigned Khandwa-based 1,360 MW Reva Thermal Power Project to state-owned NHDC Limited – which is a joint venture of NHPC Limited and the state government, the project is hanging fire as coal linkage for the project has not been cleared so far.
“In 2009, the regime assigned the project to NHDC following which the identification of land to be acquired was done. Subsequently, the process of obtaining clearances from various agencies was completed – except for coal linkage clearance from Coal India Limited that is still awaited,” NHPC Chairman and Managing Director KM Singh told UNI here today.
NHDC Limited is a joint venture of the NHPC Limited and the state government.
