Hard Kaur: Sona Mohapatra is a 'sophisticated sherni'

Rapper and singer Hard Kaur's latest track, 'Sherni' is a song dedicated to women empowerment. About the song, the desi rapper says that it is not at all male-bashing and will give the much-needed strength to her female fans. In a telephonic interview, when we asked Hard to pick up shernis (lionesses) from fields like films, sports, politics and music, she came up with some interesting names.

Ask her who she thinks is the sherni of Bollywood and pat comes the reply, 'Vidya Balan.' From the world of sports, the rapper names Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal as shernis.When it came to music, Hard, of course named herself first followed by a hearty laugh but added saying, 'I think Sona Mohapatra. I do it in a violent way and she does it sophisticatedly, that's the only difference. If I do it the Bhagat Singh way, she is a Gandhian. She is a sophisticated sherni.' On being quizzed about her choice for the title of sherni from politics, 'Party abhi baki hai' singer said that she wasn't much into politics.
