Rain/thundershowers would occur at many places over UP during the next 24 hours.
Surat: Heavy rain lashed Mangrol and Umarpada talukas of Surat but other parts of the district recorded only moderate downpour on Sunday. Normal life was affected in Mangrol and Umarpada which recorded 133mm and 101mm of rainfall, respectively. However, there were no reports of any casualties in the rains in these two talukas, sources said.
Valsad district received heavy rainfall for the second consecutive day on Sunday.
Valsad town received 70mm of rainfall in 12 hours until 6 pm while Pardi recorded 64mm, Dharmapur and Kaprada received 43mm and 42mm of rainfall, respectively.
Navsari district's Jalalpore taluka recorded 63mm and Navsari town 55mm of rainfall. Khergam and Vasada in Navsari district received 50mm and 40mm of rainfall during the period. However, Vyara taluka in Tapi district recorded around 49mm of rainfall.
Many other talukas in south Gujarat also recorded rainfall between 15mm and 35mm during the day. Ahwa, Saputara and Wagai in Dang district recorded up to 41mm of rainfall.
Surat city recorded just 6mm of rainfall. It was an overcast sky and people came out of their houses in anticipation of heavy rains. Meanwhile, water level in Ukai was touching 321.03-foot mark thanks to heavy discharge from Hathnur dam in Maharashtra. The inflow of water into Ukai dam has though got reduced to 48,523 cusecs. The rule level remains 333 feet for the dam.
