Bhadoria gave shelter to Anandpal in Agra: ATS
JAIPUR: The Anti-Terrorist Squad and Special Operations Group (SOG) is tightening the noose around the absconding gangster Anandpal Singh by nabbing down his key aides who had been providing him shelter and facilitating his escape from one city to another.
A team of ATS led by an inspector nabbed Suraj Singh Bhadoria from Agra on Saturday. According to ATS officials, a team had been camping in Agra for past three to four weeks to catch Bhadoria, who apart from shooting down two policemen in Bhilwara in 2011, was also wanted for providing shelter and giving local logistical support to Anandpal Singh in Uttrar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
“Bhadoria sheltered Anadpal Singh in Uttar Pradesh in Agra.
He had also gathered local logistical support to facilitate Singh’s hiding in Uttar Pradesh and later his escape to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. He was a key part of the network which has been helping Anandpal Singh on run,” the official said.
The ATS claimed it is their second big catch in Anandpal Singh case after the arrest of Pankaj Gupta alias Bhaiji, who was arrested by the sleuths of SOG on June 16 after a raid at his hideout in Gwalior. Gupta had played an important role in planning and executing Singh’s escape from prison. He had also given shelter to Singh in Gwalior.
“Gupta’s arrest led to important revelations about the hideouts of Anandpal Singh and his movements in Agra and Gwalior. We are likely to get some important information about Singh’s escape,” an official said.
Apart from helping the fugitive, Bhadoria was wanted for killing gangster Bhanu Pratap Singh and two police men on April 19, 2011 near Bhilwara. Bhadoria and his gang members rammed their SUV into the police vehicle. They surrounded the police vehicle and fired several rounds at the cops. Two constables - Prakash Chand and Sohan Lal - were killed along with Bhanu Pratap Singh in the firing.
The ATS and SOG have handed over the criminal to Bhilwara police as cases related to 2011 shootout are registered there. The sleuths of ATS and SOG will jointly interrogate him in Bhilwara.
