Chain-snatcher nabbed from Chunabhatti

Mumbai: The Wadala Government Railway Police (GRP) nabbed a chain-snatcher, Nitin Shinde (23), after going through CCTV camera footage in which he is seen snatching a commuter’s chain worth Rs 60,000 and jumping off the moving train on July 25. Bandra resident Pramod Chinbaikar (50) had boarded the train at King’s Circle. Shinde was already present in the compartment.“As the train moved, Shinde snatched Chinbaikar’s chain and jumped out on the platform,” said Wadala GRP senior inspector Indrabhan Sarode.
“The CCTV footage helped identify Shinde. He was later tracked down from Chunabhatti railway station on July 28,” said Sarode.
