House adjourned, to meet again on August 1

PATNA: State finance minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui on Friday tabled in the state assembly a supplementary budget demand worth Rs 16,859.99 crore for the current fiscal. The amount includes Rs 8,139.93 crore under the state plan expenditure, Rs 8,686.60 crore under non-plan head and Rs 33.43 crore under centrally sponsored schemes, Siddiqui later said.
The state government has listed for passage by the state assembly the Bihar Land Reforms (Ceiling fixation and excess land distribution) (amendment) Bill, 2016; Bihar Bhoodan Yagya (amendment) Bill, 2016; and Bihar Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (amendment) Bill, 2016.

The state government has also listed the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Bill, 2016 – for passage by the House.
Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary would decide the dates on which the lawmakers, cutting across political parties, would discuss the Bills and move amendments before they are passed by the House.
Earlier the House met for the monsoon session, but was adjourned for the day after making obituary references to former lawmakers who breathed their last after the budget session. The House would meet again on Monday.
