In its bid to boost the export of the newly launched models, home-grown UV maker Mahindra and Mahindra is reportedly readying the Left Hand Drive (LHD) version of its popular compact SUV KUV100.

The KUV100 will be launched in Hungary soon, reports ET Auto. Mahindra is looking to export the KUV100 to South Africa and other countries. While South Africa will get the KUV100 compact SUV as completely knock down units (CKD), the same will be shipped to Hungary as completely built unit (CBU).

Mahindra is reportedly hoping to export 20,000 units of the KUV100 to Hungary and South Africa. The export specific compact SUV is being readied in both petrol and diesel engine options and it is also expected to get safety features in the export model.

Mahindra KUV100 was launched in the country in January. The compact SUV is produced at its Chakan plant in Maharashtra. In India, the KUV100 has bagged over 37,000 bookings in India. Mahindra has already started exporting the KUV100 to right hand drive markets like Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Priced between Rs. 4.42 lakh and Rs 6.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), the KUV100 is offered in four variants — K2, K4, K6 and K8 — and three sub-variants — K2+, K4+ and K6+. The KUV100 packs Mahindra's new mFalcon engines under the hood. While the petrol 1.2-litre mFalcon G80 engine is tuned to churn out 82bhp and 114Nm, the 1.2-litre mFalcon D75 diesel engine can develop 77bhp and a peak torque of 190Nm. Both the engines come mated to five-speed manual gearbox.
