Petrol Rates Skyrocket In Tripura; A Litre Sells For Rs. 300
The North Eastern State of Tripura is facing difficulties as even basic commodities are facing shortages. Incessant rain and bad roads have caused the people a lot of trouble, and adding to it is soaring fuel prices.
A litre of petrol sells for Rs. 300, while diesel is selling for Rs. 150 per litre.
The highway has been damaged badly for a couple of months now and the rain has stalled road work. Many road stretches have turned out to become slush pits due to heavy rain, and trucks carrying basic commodities are stranded on the highway.
The Tripura government has been forced to ration fuel and implement an odd even policy to deal with the present situation.
BJP has also asked the Chief Minister, Manik Sarkar to step down for his failure to ensure supplies of basic commodities for the people in the state.
