Woman commits suicide with 4-year-old son

Kanpur: A woman allegedly killed her four-year-old son and then committed suicide after a quarrel with her husband at her parental house in Gopalpur locality of Ghatampur area here on Friday.
The woman identified as Hema (22), gave poisoned milk to her son Abhilash and then ended her life by consuming it herself.
The police said that Hema married Satish of Ismailpur village five years ago.She was staying with her parents at Gopalpur village following differences with her husband.
Satish is a farmer and had come to his in-laws house to meet his wife and son on Friday morning.
On Friday afternoon, Satish allegedly quarelled with his wife in an inebriated state. He accused his wife of having an illicit affair with a man in front of her family members and neighbours. Hema went to her room with her son and locked it from inside. She gave poisoned milk to her son and then ended her life by consuming it herself, the Ghatampur police said. When the family members did not get response from Hema's room, they broke open the door and found the two lying with blood oozing out from their mouth.
They took them to a hospital, where doctors declared the two dead. The woman's parents told police that Satish has accused their daughter of having illicit affair with a man. An FIR was lodged against him on a complaint lodged by Hema's parents. He is absconding.
