Two veteran artistes will pay tribute to legendary flautist Pandit Pannalal Ghosh on his 105 birth anniversary celebrations in the city on Saturday.

Organised by Raag Milan, the concert will feature Ravi Shankar Mishra on flute and Shailendra Mishra on tabla. It will be held at Sahaja Yoga Bhavan Meditation Centre, Mallar Bhavan, opposite the government press near Kukkarahalli lake in Saraswathipuram from 6 p.m.

Mysuru-based artiste Ravi Shankar Mishra, recognised as one of the finest flute players of the current generation, was initiated into the art by his father Dinesh Chandra Mishra and in 1994, he became a disciple of the maestro Pandit Nityanand Haldipur. Ravi Shankar Mishra has also received guidance from Padma Bhushan Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan.

A regular performer for prestigious events both in India and abroad, Ravi Shankar Mishra is a recipient of Surmani award and has collaborated with many musicians resulting in 7 studio albums. Besides, performing he is also imparting knowledge and training students in the traditional style from all over the world.

He is also renowned for crafting bamboo flutes, said a release.

Shalender Mishra is a top grade artiste from AIR and represents the Banaras and Farukkhabad Gharana. A release said his presentation is unique and individualistic and his solo and accompaniment concerts are acclaimed worldwide. He has performed with stalwarts of Indian classical and world music.

Under cultural exchange program, his 4 years stay in Malaysia resulted in wide promotion of Indian music in general and tabla as an art in particular in south east Asia, the release added.
