He has been the New York Yankees best hitter this season, but the future of Carlos Beltran remains unclear as teams continue to approach the Yankees about a potential trade for the 39-year-old.

Rumor Central

According to T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com, the Texas Rangers are the latest team to express interest in the veteran outfielder, but it appears those discussions are not progressing towards a deal.

While there has been some trade buzz surrounding Beltran, Yankees manager Joe Girardi has made it clear he's not in favor of trading the team's best hitter.

"Joe Girardi has emphasized the importance of Carlos Beltran to this year's team," ESPN's Andrew Marchand wrote. "It is becoming increasingly clear that some decision-makers in the organization look at trading Beltran as essentially waving the white flag."

In 96 games this season, the 18-year veteran is batting .305 with 21 home runs and 62 RBIs.
