Joe Biden and Mariska Hargitay, BFFs?

Power duo alert: actress Mariska Hargitay and Vice President Biden are proving to be quite the team lately.

Hargitay, best known for her role as Lieutenant Olivia Benson on “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” narrated the biographical video introducing Biden at the Democratic National Convention this week.

Now, Biden is returning the favor by making a cameo appearance on her crime drama, which focuses on sexual assault cases. According to the White House, the appearance will focus “on the rape kit backlog and efforts to end violence against women.”

Biden and Margitay have worked on those issues together IRL, too, with Biden taping a PSA that ran during past episodes of the show.

The scene for the upcoming season, which the Veep is filming Friday on set in New York, will also feature series stars Kelli Giddish, Ice-T and Peter Scanavino, E! News reports.
