HTC is expected to manufacture the two Google Nexus smartphones this year and leaks on the upcoming devices continue to surface online. The latest regards the materials used for the panels on the smartphones. A rumor states that Nexus Marlin will come with an all-metal build, while Nexus Sailfish will also have some plastic elements.

The rumor comes from Nexus Blog, which reveals that the Nexus Marlin and Nexus Sailfish will be built with different materials. The information is said to come from the manufacturing division of HTC and it reveals that Nexus Marlin, or M1 how it's internally known at HTC, will be coming with an all metal design.

In addition, the post says that Nexus Sailfish or S1 will be using a combination of metal and plastic. The frame is said to be made out of metal, while the body will be using a soft plastic built, just like on the Desire line of smartphones from the Taiwanese manufacturer. Moreover, a plastic build could drive the price of Nexus Sailfish lower than that of Nexus Marlin, but it's still expected to exceed $350.

Nexus Sailfish and Nexus Marlin are said to come with USB Type-C ports

A render of Nexus Marlin leaked yesterday, showing that the device's design resembles that of HTC 10. In addition, renders of the two smartphones also leaked earlier this month and pictures of the two smartphones in various colors were shown online.

Nexus Marlin is expected to come with a 5.5-inch display, larger compared to Sailfish's 5-inch screen. Both smartphones will have a fingerprint scanner on the back and they are said to be the first phones to come with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box.

In addition, Nexus Marlin and Nexus Sailfish will also have USB Type-C ports, while Marlin is expected to come with a 12MP rear camera and a 3,450mAh battery, coupled with 4GB of RAM. Sailfish could come with Snapdragon 820 processor and have a 2,770mAh battery.
