Glenorchy man charged over police station ram raid

A man from the northern Hobart suburb of Glenorchy will appear in court on Friday night over a ram-raid on a police station in Hobart's north early Thursday morning.
About $5,000 damage was caused to the front of the Glenorchy Police Station in Main Road.
Police said they arrested the 35 year-old man on Friday afternoon in New Town after receiving information from the public.
He has also been charged in relation to similar damage caused at a business in Derwent Park and a private residence in New Town, along with related traffic offences.
The total damages bill is estimated at more than $10,000.
