RAJKOT: The special operations group (SOG) arrested a 30-year-old resident of Vimalnagar area after they found three weapons from his possession on Thursday.
SOG sleuths intercepted Devendrasinh alias Devubha Gohil, and found two country-made pistols, a revolver and three cartridges from him.
During questioning, Gohil told police that he was engaged in private security contracts and the weapons belonged to a person named Balwantsinh whom he had met in Sutrapada few months ago.
Gohil claimed that Balwantsinh, who was also into private security, had come to his house four months ago. He left to have dinner, leaving his bag at Gohil's house and never returned.
"Gohil claims that the weapons were in his bag and he could not get in touch with Balwantsinh. However, we doubt his claims and would seek his remand to probe further," said an SOG official.
